randis-world said: I am attempting to play corpse party rebuild, and I am unable to open the game.rgssad file and everytime i try to open the game, a pop-up window says "RGSS-RTP Standard not found". I was wondering what to do to fix this, and am also wondering if I would miss anything major if I skipped to any of the later games in the series. Thank you!
According to Google search online, it seems that it may be likely that the RPG Maker XP RTP was not installed. Try installing this and see if it works. This thread also may have some other information as well that may help you out.
As for the next question, I am going to cover all grounds here with the official games:
- If you are skipping CORPSE-PARTY (PC-98) or CORPSE PARTY -Rebuilt- to play Corpse Party (PSP), you wouldn’t miss out on a lot. However, there are a lot of references and throw-backs from the original game that may be missed out in the remake — nothing that will ultimately hinder your gameplay.
- If you want to skip Corpse Party (PSP) to play Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, you will miss out on a lot. Book of Shadows pretty much requires you to play the previous PSP game in order to understand a lot of the storyline. Unfortunately, this game fails to give any details nor explain it completely to the players.
- If you want to skip Corpse Party (PSP) or Corpse Party: Book of Shadows to play Corpse Party -THE ANTHOLOGY- Sachiko’s Game of Love ♥ Hysteric Birthday 2U, I would not recommend it. Playing Corpse Party 2U is truly meant for fans of the Corpse Party series, and if you don’t know the Corpse Party cast — most of the inside jokes will be lost on the player. However, Corpse Party 2U does something that I wish was included in Book of Shadows, you can read the synopsis and all of the endings from the previous titles. Therefore it keeps the player refreshed on the happenings of the Corpse Party series.
- If you want to skip all of the Corpse Party games and go straight to Corpse Party 2: DEAD PATIENT, you would be okay. There are some story segments from the previous games that may be lost on the player. However, the game does its best to explain it to them. Only time will tell if it is explained more in further chapters to help out those who haven’t played the Corpse Party series before.
These are my own personal opinion and I hope this helps you out.
